A floor broom is the wide-headed brush for indoor floors. The bristle length decides what it sweeps: short, stiff bristle stays close to the floor, does not splay, and moves stuck-on dirt, wet mud and coarse dust — that is the one for workshops, production floors, warehouses and wet rooms. Long, soft bristle picks up fine dust and lint without throwing it into the air and leaves no marks on a smooth sealed floor. The head is chosen by the area; the handle is bought separately and screws into the threaded socket. The same head is used for the dry sweep that comes before mopping a hard floor.
