The Agatec MC5 levels mechanically rather than electronically: a pendulum trues the beam itself as long as the instrument is set within ±3° of level. Range is ±25 m without a detector and ±80 m with one; accuracy is ±2 mm at 10 m. It has up and down plummets. Three AA cells give 12 hours, and the body is 160 x 100 mm at 700 g.
