GFB Micrometer 6 Piece

The GFB Micrometer comes as a 6 piece set. A micrometer measures off the pitch of a calibrated screw: one turn of the thimble advances the spindle by the pitch, and the graduation follows from it. It is a step finer than a caliper, and the range extends in 25 mm sections. Used to measure diameter, thickness and bore in machine work. The ratchet applies the same pressure every time — tightening past it corrupts the reading — and zero should be checked against a standard first.
