About GFB

GFB is the largest single brand listing in the Seza Global catalogue: 2,875 sizes, from drilling and cutting tools through to machine shop tooling. Nearly every intermediate size within a product group is listed — a range built to cover a workshop's consumable tooling from one brand.

Metal drill bits are the largest part of it: HSS bits from 0.5 mm to 50 mm in four separate series. The black series is steam treated and works in general steel; the cobalt (HSS-Co) gold series holds up to heat in stainless and alloy steels; ground white long bits are for deep holes; and DIN 1869 parabolic long bits clear chips from far deeper than a standard flute will. Larger diameters on Morse taper shanks are listed separately for machine use.

On the masonry side, SDS plus bits run from 110 mm to 1000 mm in both standard and 4-cutter (4-diamond) heads, and SDS max bits cover 12-32 mm diameters in 340 and 540 mm lengths. Chisels and points on the same fitting are listed too: pointed chisels, flat chisels and wide or extra-wide gouging chisels. SDS plus and SDS max are not interchangeable — the bit must match the chuck on the machine.

Thread cutting covers both metric and imperial (UNC/UNF) systems, each with a coarse and fine pitch. Machine taps follow DIN 371 and DIN 376 in straight and spiral flute; three-piece hand sets (taper, second and bottoming taps) and dies are listed over the same size range. Titanium (TiN) coated machine taps last longer in production work. HELICOIL thread repair kits from M5 to M16 are in the catalogue for restoring stripped threads.

Hole saws come in three technologies: bi-metal for sheet metal and timber, TCT (carbide toothed) for thick sheet and stainless, and diamond for marble, granite and ceramic. Diamond hole saws are listed with M14 grinder threads and in vacuum-brazed form, and the concrete models come both with and without an adapter.

In machine tooling, end mills are listed in 2 and 4 flute, long series, titanium coated and diamond coated forms including ball nose; HSS 90 degree countersinks and aluminium cutters sit alongside them. For workholding there are ER8 to ER40 collets, BT/BBT40 collet chucks and C16-C25 straight shank collet holders, Morse taper sleeves, keyed and keyless drill chucks, and CNC precision machine vises from 150x200 mm upward.

Measuring instruments run from digital, dial and vernier calipers between 150 mm and 1000 mm — including depth and long jaw types — to digital and depth micrometers from 0-25 mm, dial indicators reading 0.01 and 0.001 mm with magnetic stands, 300 and 500 mm height gauges, steel rules, squares, angle gauges, feeler gauges and steel letter and number punch sets.

The category shelves do not show the whole catalogue: lathe chucks (3 and 4 jaw, hydraulic, indexing), jaw sets, Morse taper sleeves and helicoil kits are listed while categorisation continues. If the size you need is not there, tell us and we will come back with stock and lead time.

Frequently asked questions

  • Do you supply the whole GFB range?

Yes. 2,875 GFB sizes are listed, and some are not yet on the category shelves because categorisation is still in progress. If the size you need is not listed, tell us and we will come back with stock and lead time.

  • Which drill bit series should I choose?

It follows the material: black (steam treated) HSS for general steel and cast iron, the cobalt gold series (HSS-Co) for stainless and alloy steels, ground white long bits for deep holes, and DIN 1869 parabolic bits where chip evacuation from a deep hole is the problem.

  • What is the difference between cobalt and standard HSS bits?

Cobalt bits carry 5-8% cobalt in the alloy, which lets them keep their hardness at cutting temperature. In stainless, hardened and alloy steels a standard HSS bit dulls where a cobalt bit keeps cutting. In mild steel and aluminium there is no gain — a standard bit is enough.

  • Are SDS plus and SDS max bits interchangeable?

No. They are two different chuck systems: SDS plus uses a 10 mm shank on light and medium rotary hammers, SDS max an 18 mm shank on heavy machines. The bit has to match the machine's chuck; working around it with an adapter damages both.

  • What is the difference between coarse and fine thread taps?

The pitch at the same diameter: M10x1.5 is coarse (standard), M10x1.25 is fine. A fine thread gives more thread engagement and finer adjustment, and is preferred in thin walled parts. If you do not know the pitch, measure it off an existing bolt — the wrong pitch ruins the part.

  • Machine tap or three-piece hand set?

A hand set is a taper, second and bottoming tap for cutting the thread in stages by hand, and it reaches the bottom of a blind hole. A machine tap (DIN 371/376) cuts in a single pass on a machine or tapping arm. Spiral flute taps pull the chip back out of the hole, which is why they are used in blind holes.

  • Which hole saw type do I need?

It follows the material: bi-metal for sheet metal, timber and plastic; TCT (carbide toothed) for thick sheet, stainless and hard material; diamond for marble, granite, ceramic and concrete. Diamond hole saws are listed with M14 threads for angle grinders and as vacuum types.

  • How do I choose an ER collet size?

The collet size (ER8-ER40) is set by the holder, not the tool: an ER32 holder takes only ER32 collets. The clamping range is then chosen for the tool shank — each collet closes to roughly 1 mm under its nominal diameter, so intermediate shank sizes need their own collet.

  • Are hole saw arbors sold separately?

Yes, saws and arbors are listed separately, and the arbor is chosen by saw diameter (a different length below and above 32 mm). Diamond concrete hole saws are listed both with and without an adapter, stated in the product name.

  • Do calipers and micrometers come with a calibration certificate?

Not as standard. If you need a calibration certificate or an accredited measurement report, say so with your enquiry and we will arrange it for the items concerned.

  • Why can't I see lathe chucks and micrometers on the category shelves?

Lathe chucks, jaw sets, Morse taper sleeves, helicoil kits and some measuring instruments are not yet assigned to the category tree — 671 GFB rows are in that state. They are still listed and searchable, and they will appear on the shelves as categorisation continues.

  • How does wholesale purchase and dealership work?

Send the product names or sizes with quantities; we return stock, wholesale pricing and lead time together. Workshops and dealers buying regularly get a standing price list.

  • Do you export?

Yes. Send the product list and quantities along with the delivery terms you need (EXW, FOB, CIF) and we will price and plan the shipment accordingly.
