Air spray guns atomise paint with compressed air and lay it on in a thin, even film. They are chosen by model, cup position (gravity or suction) and nozzle size: a fine nozzle for clear and top coats, a large one for primer and filler. Sandblasting, texture, underseal and underbody coating guns work the same way with grit, texture paint and protective coating; an airbrush is for models and fine detail.
