The GFB Three-Piece Hand Tap Set cuts a 1″-8 UNC thread, is a coarse pitch. A three-piece set is a taper, a second and a bottoming tap: the thread is cut in stages, and the bottoming tap carries it to the base of the hole. Used for hand tapping with a wrench and wherever a blind hole needs full thread depth. Backing off every couple of turns breaks the chip and keeps the tap from binding.
