Product details
The GFB Helicoil Tap cuts a M12x1.5 metric thread. A helicoil tap is cut oversize on purpose: it opens the seat that the wire thread insert screws into, replacing a stripped thread. Used in thread repair: drill out the damaged thread, cut the seat with this tap, then wind in the insert to restore the original size. It is the standard repair in aluminium and cast housings.
