A whitewash brush is a wide-bodied brush that covers a broad flat surface in a single pass. It is for material laid on quickly and in quantity — whitewash, lime, silicone based exterior paint and primer — on walls, ceilings, garden walls and warehouse facades. The end of the handle is threaded, so an extension pole can be fitted to reach a ceiling or a high wall from the ground. The bristle length sets how the brush behaves. Short bristle is stiffer: it does not splay under pressure, it works the paint into the surface and pushes it into the pores of rough render and bare concrete. Long bristle is softer, carries more material, and covers a large flat area without leaving marks.
