The GFB Spade Bit is 18 mm in diameter, on a Hex shank. A spade bit is a flat blade with a centring point: only the leading edge cuts, which makes it fast but coarse. Used for large diameter holes in timber and board. The hex shank stops it slipping in an impact driver; backing the workpiece stops breakout on the far side.
