Corner Protector or Guard Barrier?
There are two levels of protection. Corner protectors wrap the sharp edge of a column, protecting both bodywork and concrete in light contact, and come in flat, oval and PVC bodies. Column guard barriers stand off from the column and take harder impacts away from the structure itself.
Barrier height sets the level of protection: 60 cm models cover bumper-height contact, while 100-104 cm models cover a wider band. In front of ventilation ducts, panels and equipment, vent guard barriers do the same job.
- Flat, oval and PVC column corner protectors — light contact and bodywork
- Column guard barrier 60 cm — bumper-level protection
- Column guard barrier 100 and 104 cm — wider protection band
- Wall protection 20x80 cm — contact protection along a wall run
- Vent guard barrier and 150 cm high-vehicle stop
Covered Car Park and Facility Practice
The damage always concentrates in the same places: ramp exits, columns where the turning radius tightens, bays that are reversed into, and the area around pedestrian doors. Protecting those points first, then the general run, is where the budget does the most work.
The 150 cm high-vehicle stop marks the parking limit for tall vehicles where headroom is restricted. Reflective or contrasting colours on column protectors further reduce impact risk in low light.
Frequently Asked Questions
Corner protector or guard barrier?
Where light contact and paint damage are the problem, a corner protector is enough and costs less. Where a manoeuvring error can turn into a hard impact — ramp exits, tight turns, heavy reversing areas — a column guard barrier is the right call, because it takes the hit away from the structure.
Which barrier height should I choose?
60 cm barriers cover contact at car bumper height. In car parks with light commercial and taller vehicle traffic, 100-104 cm models protect a wider band.
Where is wall protection used?
20x80 cm wall protection panels go on the wall side of parking bays, in narrow passages and around doors — along the line where vehicles touch the wall while manoeuvring or opening doors.
