PVC Cones

PVC traffic cones are listed for wholesale supply in 50, 52, 72, 75 and 90 cm heights, with body weights from 1.25 kg to 3.3 kg. They are used for roadworks, site perimeters, car park routing and event areas.

Choosing Height and Weight

Height sets the distance from which the cone is seen; weight decides whether it holds position in wind and in the air wash of passing vehicles. That is why the same height comes in several weights: our 75 cm cones are stocked at 2 kg, 2.2 kg, 2.4 kg and 3 kg.

A PVC body is heavier and more weather-durable than a TPE economy cone, which is what makes it the choice for live traffic and continuous use. TS EN 13422 is the reference standard for portable warning devices and cones.

  • 50 cm / 1.35 kg and 52 cm / 1.25–1.7 kg: car parks, indoor yards, short-term routing
  • 75 cm / 2–3 kg: the standard class for urban roadworks and site perimeters
  • 72 cm American profile / 3.3 kg: wide base, high resistance to tipping
  • 90 cm / 3.2 kg: long-distance visibility and windy open ground
  • Single or double reflective sleeve options

Applications and Site Practice

Cones are used to taper and route traffic at roadworks, to enclose working areas on site, to reserve space in car parks and to manage pedestrian flow at events. Where cones are struck frequently, impact-resistant bollard-type cones that return to shape are preferred; for economical temporary layouts, TPE cones do the job.

Cones stack inside one another for transport, so the freight cost per unit drops sharply with quantity. Our sales team can help plan pallet loads for project volumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What cone height do roadworks need?

75 cm is the most common height for urban roadworks. Where speeds and sight distances increase on open sections, 90 cm or the wide-base 72 cm American profile is preferred, while 50–52 cm is enough for car park and indoor routing.

  • Why does the same height come in different weights?

Weight sets how well the cone resists wind and the air wash of passing vehicles. Exposed positions with live or fast traffic need a heavier body; enclosed, low-speed areas are served well and more economically by lighter models.

  • Single or double reflective sleeve?

A double sleeve returns light across a wider band of height when headlights hit it, improving night-time visibility — the right choice for night work and live traffic. A single sleeve is sufficient for daytime indoor and yard use.

  • How do PVC cones differ from impact-resistant bollard cones?

PVC cones are the classic heavy-bodied option. Impact-resistant bollard-type cones flex and return to their original shape after being struck, which reduces replacement frequency at entrances, exits and narrow passages where contact is frequent.
