Base-Mounted, Base-Less and Yellow-Base Models
Base-less delineators are anchored directly into the surface and give a low-profile, permanent lane separation. In base-mounted systems the post is fitted to a rubber base that holds position by mass — the answer where drilling is unwanted or the layout has to move.
The catalog covers 100 cm bases with one post, 140 cm bases with one, two or three posts, yellow-base delineators in 45 and 75 cm, base-less models in 45 and 75 cm, and 75 cm flexible warning posts in red, yellow and black.
- 45 cm body: car parks, service roads and low-speed internal areas
- 75 cm body: urban lane separation, median edges and junction approaches
- 100 cm rubber base + 1 post: narrow islands and entry separation
- 140 cm rubber base + 1, 2 or 3 posts: median heads and routing islands
- Flexible bodies bend and spring back after impact, cutting replacement cost
Where They Are Used
Delineators separate opposing lanes physically, mark median and island edges, define car park entry and exit lanes, guide toll and ramp approaches, and organise traffic inside construction sites. Reflective sleeves keep the line visible through the night.
Anchored base-less models suit permanent installations; rubber base sets suit sites whose layout changes often. For temporary works, 75 cm flexible warning posts go up quickly.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does a delineator differ from a traffic cone?
A cone is a portable, temporary warning device; a delineator marks lane separation and route geometry permanently. A flexible delineator bends and springs back when struck, while a cone is knocked over and has to be reset.
Will a base-mounted delineator stay put without anchoring?
The rubber base holds position by its own mass and stays put under normal conditions. In live traffic, at higher speeds or in exposed windy positions we recommend anchoring the base as well; 140 cm bases offer greater resistance to tipping.
Should I choose 45 cm or 75 cm?
The 75 cm body is seen from further away and suits urban lane separation, median edges and junction approaches. The 45 cm body is sufficient — and takes up less space — in car parks, service roads and low-speed internal areas.
Do delineators break when hit?
Flexible bodies lie down on impact and then return upright, which reduces breakage and replacement frequency. Where contact is expected to be frequent, we recommend the more flexible bodies and anchoring the base.
