Reading a kit

Kit codes describe machines and battery configuration together. Check three things separately: how many machines, how many packs and at what Ah, and whether charger and case are included. Two kits with identical machines can differ sharply in price on battery capacity alone.

Machines sold bare (body only, codes ending in Z) exist to extend a platform you already own: buy the kit first, then add bare tools to keep cost down.

  • Machine count: 2-piece combo, 4-piece, 6-piece kits.
  • Batteries: quantity and Ah (2x5.0 Ah) — the main cost in the kit.
  • Charger: fast or standard, single or multi-bay.
  • Carrying: bag, case or stackable system box.

Which kit suits whom

The most common combo pairs a drill driver with an impact driver: one drills and drives on a clutch, the other tightens long and stubborn fasteners. Electrical and plumbing crews add a reciprocating saw and a light; metalworkers reach for a grinder and an impact wrench instead.

Multi-tool kits are the cheapest entry for a crew new to a platform; if you are already on one, a bare tool usually makes more sense.

    Most of the price difference between kits sits in the packs. 2x2.0 Ah suits assembly work; grinders and breakers draw high current and want 4.0-5.0 Ah and above.

  • Can kits from different brands be combined?

    Not on batteries. Every platform has its own rail geometry and communication electronics, so two brands mean two separate battery pools.
