Wet and dry cutting

Wet core bits run with water cooling: it suppresses dust, extends segment life considerably and is standard in reinforced concrete. Dry bits run with dust extraction and suit brick, aerated block and hollow units.

The thread follows the machine (1/2" gas and similar) and can be converted with an adapter. Diameter follows the penetration being made.

  • Wet in reinforced concrete, dry in light materials.
  • A rig anchored to the wall gives a straighter hole than hand-held work.
  • Polished segments are resharpened on an abrasive block.
  • If the water stops, the segments burn — cooling must be continuous.
