Passage, WC and keyed
These three words describe the hole pattern in the plate under the handle. A passage set has only the spindle hole; a bathroom-WC set adds a thumbturn inside and an emergency slot outside; a keyed set has the cylinder hole open, for doors locked with a key.
The handle set must therefore match the function of the mortise lock behind it: fit a keyed handle to a WC lock and the thumbturn hole has nothing behind it.
