Fittings Fabrication Machines
Segmented fittings fabrication means cutting pipe at an angle and butt fusing the pieces into elbows, wyes, tees and crosses; at large diameters and unusual angles, where no moulded fitting exists, it is the only answer. The catalogue holds the manual Alfa 400 M, the CNC-controlled Alfa range (Ø 90-1600 mm), the Omega reducer machine and the S02 pipe segment preparation bench.

The manual and CNC Alfa range
The Alfa 400 M is manually controlled and produces elbows in Ø 90-400 mm and wyes, tees and crosses in Ø 90-315 mm. On the CNC TAB models the welding cycle runs from a tablet; parameters are stored and a report is produced for every weld, which supplies the traceability projects ask for at handover.
The CNC range comes in separate metric and inch (IPS/DIPS) models: the Alfa 400 and 16 CNC TAB for small to medium diameters, the Alfa 630 and 24 CNC TAB for medium, and the Alfa 1000/1200/1600 with the 48 and 63 CNC TAB for large. Working pressure runs from 0-150 bar to 0-250 bar depending on the model.
- Alfa 400 M: manual, elbows Ø 90-400 mm, tees and crosses Ø 90-315 mm
- Alfa 400 / 630 CNC TAB: Ø 90-630 mm, tablet controlled, with reporting
- Alfa 1000 / 1200 / 1600 CNC TAB: elbow fabrication Ø 355-1600 mm
- Alfa 16 / 24 / 48 / 63 CNC TAB: inch sized (IPS/DIPS) models
- Alfa TEL-800: Ø 400-800 mm, 400 V 3 phase, 2,220 kg
- Omega: reducer (cone) fabrication
- S02: pipe segment preparation bench with a pneumatic cutter
The production chain: cutting, welding, checking
Segmented fitting fabrication has three steps: cutting the segments to the right angle and length, joining them by butt fusion, and checking the angle. The S02 bench handles the first; its pneumatic cutter cuts pipe segments to size and the collection box keeps them in order. Angled cuts are made on the Sigma models in the band saws category.
The Alfa machines combine the second and third steps: they grip the segment, run the welding cycle and set the rotation angle on the machine. Holding an angle by hand leaves a cumulative error with every elbow; a machine working through 0-60° removes it.
Frequently Asked Questions
When is a segmented fitting preferred over a moulded one?
At diameters where moulded fittings are not made (generally above Ø 400 mm), on routes needing a non-standard angle, and on projects where the lead time must beat the supply of a moulded fitting. Because it is made from the same material, continuity of line strength is preserved.
What is the difference between the manual Alfa 400 M and the CNC TAB models?
On the manual model the operator runs the cycle; on the CNC TAB models parameters are set from a tablet, the cycle advances automatically and every weld is reported. For series production, repeatability and jobs where weld records are handed to the customer, CNC is decisive.
Which fitting types can be produced?
Elbows from 0 to 60°, wyes from 45 to 60°, tees and crosses. The working ranges differ by fitting type: the Alfa 400 M reaches Ø 400 mm on elbows but stops at Ø 315 mm on tees and crosses. Reducers are made on the Omega.
What other equipment does fittings fabrication need?
A band saw for the angled cuts (the Sigma range) and the S02 bench for segment preparation are in practice part of the line. At large diameters, pipe handling and positioning also has to be planned; models such as the Alfa TEL-800 weigh over two tonnes and need a fixed layout.
