Choosing by Welding Method
The method follows pipe diameter and what the line does. Butt fusion melts two pipe ends against a heating plate and joins them under pressure — the method for PE pressure mains, used well beyond Ø 630 mm. Socket fusion heats the outside of the pipe and the inside of the fitting simultaneously in a socket, and is the standard at plumbing diameters (Ø 16-125 mm).
Electrofusion passes current through a fitting with an embedded resistance wire, which is what you want in confined spaces and repair connections. Extrusion welding covers thick-walled sheet, tanks and fabricated parts. Band saws square the pipe before welding, and fittings fabrication machines build elbows, tees and manifolds out of pipe sections.
- Butt fusion: PE/PP pressure mains, wide diameter range, site and workshop
- Socket fusion: Ø 16-125 mm plumbing, PP-R hot and cold water lines
- Electrofusion: confined spaces, repairs and tie-ins
- Extrusion: sheet, tanks and thick-walled fabrication
- Band saws and fittings fabrication: preparation and workshop production
Comparing on the Numbers
Where several models cover the same method, the difference is working range, level of automation, power supply and portability. Our product pages publish the manufacturer's working range, total absorbed power, working temperature, time to reach welding temperature, dimensions and weight, so two machines can be compared row by row.
For site work, weight and transport case size decide; in a workshop, automation and data logging matter more. Where a generator will power the machine, the total absorbed power figure drives the generator sizing directly.
Ritmo's Sales Partner in Turkey
The machines in this category are made by Ritmo, the Italian manufacturer that has built plastic welding machines for over 40 years; Seza Global is their sales partner in Turkey. Alongside the machines we supply spare parts and consumables — sockets, heating plates, heating elements, hole saws, clamps and inserts.
We also cover project-based machine selection, operator training and field support on welding parameters. Contact our sales team for pricing and lead times.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between butt fusion and socket fusion?
In butt fusion two pipe ends are melted against a heating plate and pressed together, joining pipe to pipe on the same axis — the method for larger diameters. In socket fusion the outside of the pipe and the inside of the fitting are heated at once in a socket, and the pipe is pushed into the fitting; it is the standard at plumbing diameters of Ø 16-125 mm.
Which machine covers my diameters?
Take the smallest and largest diameter in the project and match them against the working range row on each product page. If no single machine covers both ends, most projects are better served by a main machine plus a second, smaller set than by one oversized machine.
Can the machines run off a generator?
Yes, provided the generator is sized for the machine's total absorbed power and inrush current. Every product page publishes absorbed power and supply voltage; our sales team can check the sizing against your site setup.
What determines weld quality?
The right combination of temperature, pressure and time, plus surface preparation and alignment of the pipe ends. That makes operator training and correct parameters as decisive as the machine — we provide training at delivery and field support afterwards.
Do you supply spare parts and service?
Yes: sockets, heating plates and coatings, heating elements, hole saws, clamp and insert sets, and transport cases. Send the model and serial number and we will match the correct part.
